About Biyotematur
Biyotematur is a division of the Turkey-based non-government environmental foundation, TEMA, and specializes in promoting eco-tourism by organizing nature tours to regional areas. Any profits derived from these tours are used to fund the activities of TEMA, also known in English as the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats.
TEMA is Turkey’s fastest growing non-government organisation and has achieved consultative status within the United Nations Economic and Social Council. It has current environmental programs in:
- Community education,
- Law reform and legal action,
- Preparation and implementation of technical projects concerning matters
such as grazing land rehabilitation, erosion control and rural development,
- Reforestation,
- Biodiversity, and
- Land rehabilitation.
Biyotematur is an experienced boutique agency that can cater to expert clientele and can organise any tours to order, including those with a research emphasis. Past tours conducted include an Oak Tour of Turkey and Georgia for the International Oak Society, tours of the Black Sea region of Camili and Macahel, and a tour for the International Dendrological Society.
